Sepultura - Mind War

This is an interesting video from Brazilian metalers Sepultura.
The video features the band riding up and down a huge elevator as they jam and pass all kinds of weird stuff going on the various floors as they go up and down, including a ladies boxing match, a guy drenched in blood in the men's room, which is also blood splattered, and a girl sitting in her apartment watching TV as it's burning on fire!
The video is pretty cool, and the song is also pretty good. Probably one of the best they've come up with since they lost founding member Max Cavalera. I definately recommend giving this a shot.

Fear Factory - Bite The Hand That Bleeds

The original innovators of industrial metal return with this great track off the SAW motion picture soundtrack! I saw pirated DVDs of this movie starring Danny Glover all over the place, and just past it over as another B-grade slasher flick, but now I have a bit of an interest to check it out after watching this video!

The video starts with vocalist Burton Bell waking up in a bathtub to find himself and his fellow bandmates chained together and locked up in a bathroom. This psycho chick then comes in and taunts them throughout the video as scenes from the movie flash by, and the band go through scenes reminiscent of that in the movie.
Example being they are all bound together by chains, with the key placed just out of reach, or the false hope of freedom they get when psycho chick hands them a pair of hacksaws to cut the chains, only to find the saws too blunt to cut the chain!

The song on the other hand is one of the more hauting songs by Fear Factory. You won't hear Bell growling as he usually does, but sing throughout the whole track with his near choir-like singing voice. One thing I always like about Fear Factory is that they could play hard or mellow, and make either one work!

I definately recommend this video as well as checking out the movie the soundtrack is from as it looks very promising.

Return of the Charge!

One of my all time favourite groups, American Head Charge, are finally set to return to the metal world! After a nearly three year absence, the 7-piece orchestra of mayhem (originally discovered by Slipknot's Shawn "Clown" Crahan) have finally gotten a new record label and will be releasing their new album, "The Feeding" in February 2005!

And if you can't wait until then, the band have posted a demo of the new track entitled "Loyalty" at their official web-site to give you a taste of things to come. Visit the site and check it out now!

Three Days Grace - Home

This is a very nice video by Three Days Grace. It features the band jamming in the corridor of an abandoned house with scenes of this bizarre goth chick running around and eventually destroying the place with a baseball bat.
I particularly like the scenes where the vocalist is screaming into a pay-phone on the wall.
The end of the video sees the goth-chick spinning on a pedestal before she starts to cough up blood, or some kinda black gunk, and starts screaming. Video ends with a rear view of her all shrivaled up and collapsing on her knees in front of the band.
It should also be noted that this is one catchy track by the group, and accompanies the video real well. And right now I get the feeling I shoulda bought the CD when I say it in KL a few days back.

Demon Hunter - Not Ready To Die

Despite the band's very heavy sound and buffalo skull logo, and even the fact that their latest album is called Summer of Darkness, Demon Hunter are actually a Christian metal band!
But don't let that first impression dampen your expectations of them. This band topped my list of bands to watch out for this year, and this video seals that fact that Demon Hunter deserve alot of praise.
The video is simple and features the band jamming away in what looks like a an empty building with some good background lighting effects and their buffalo skull banner logo. Basically what you'd expect in most low budget videos, but cases like this you always listen to the song to help sell the video, and this is a catchy track, especially the melodic chorus. You can feel a strong sense of hope from the lyrics and a way it's sung.
This is definately worth checking out.

I would also recommend downloading the track "My Heartstrings Come Undone" by Demon Hunter from the Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack.

Double Dose of Shadows Fall

I've heard alot of hype about Shadows Fall, and after watching them here, I'd say that it's more desereved than what Lamb of God are getting. Heck, Revolver magazine gave their current album, "War Within", a perfect 5-Star rating!

The Power of I and I
Fun video featuring the ultimate metal picnic! This video features the band jamming in an open park space, laced in with shots of a special event that took place in July where 10 of the top metal bands got together with a few hundred friends for the mother of all picnics! Throughout the video, you'll see bands like Chimaira, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and God Forbid fooling around the barbeque and such with their friends and families. Great fun video!

What Drives The Weak
I first heard this song on the MTV2 Headbanger's Ball Volume 2 CD, and really got hooked on it since it was a catchy "give hope" kinda song. The video features the band jamming in a biker get together, and the singer supposedly chasing a ghost or something around the attic till he comes upon what looks like a big chained up casket. He unlocks the casket and releases HIMSELF from it! They then merge and jam out the rest of the song. Really nice.
